MOTH is rolling out, piece by piece, the way we were always meant to—through storytelling, through community, and through a deep belief that connection should be intentional, not incidental.

We’ve never been about simply putting strangers in the same room. At MOTH, we want to amplify the voices, businesses, and ideas that make our communities thrive. We want to start conversations that challenge how we connect with one another. How do we take the burden off those who already feel isolated? Who gets left out? How do we design a world where everyone feels seen?

Over the next few months, you’ll see this vision come to life. As I’ll continue to say, this is your story too. We’re not here to hand you a solution, we’re here to build it with you. You’re already part of this conversation, simply because you exist in this world and you belong here. We hope you’ll use your voice and help us shape this platform into the movement we know it will become.

Thank you for the support so far. We’re only just beginning.

Series: The History of Belonging

MOTH's History of Belonging series is now live on Instagram. Every day throughout the course of March, we will be highlighting key moments in history that show us how deeply rooted our need for community is. From small-town gatherings to global movements, these stories remind us that we belong to one another and that we can accomplish beautiful things together.

Entry 1: Woodstock 1969

In August 1969, nearly half a million people gathered on a farm in upstate New York.

The rain turned the ground to mud. Food ran out. The roads were blocked for miles. Yet people stayed. Blankets and bread were shared as they listened to artists who spoke of peace in a time of war. They watched the sun rise over fields filled with strangers who did not feel like strangers anymore.

They congregated because of their shared interest in music, but left with a renewed affection for community and shared experiences.

Indisposable: Our First Photos Are Here

We’re so excited to share that Indisposable is taking shape. Our first few photos have been developed, and with them, stories that capture resilience, community, and what it means to be seen. This project is about reminding each other that our stories, communities, and lived experiences matter. Because no one is disposable. Keep an eye out as we begin sharing these images and stories soon.

A Space for Necessary Conversations

In everything we do, we want it to be a conversation. We've spent the last few months bringing together writers, thinkers, and friends across the world to talk about loneliness, human connection, mental health, and ways to push humanity forward together. In April, you'll meet the brilliant minds we've connected with and hear the things that have been on their minds.

We want to amplify the thoughts that align with our vision of creating a world where everyone belongs. If that speaks to you and you have a perspective you want to share, let us know. Our blog is open for public submissions! Just click the link below.

A Note from the CEO

Over the past year, one of the most beautiful things I’ve experienced is watching people’s eyes light up when I tell them about MOTH. It’s not just about validation or proof that we’re onto something meaningful. It’s about the fact that people see themselves in this movement.

The response is almost always the same: “Oh my gosh, I LOVE this, and—” That “and” excites me most. It’s the moment someone realizes that this isn’t just our idea, but a vision they can help shape.

Too often, we see organizations resistant to outside influence, guarding their vision instead of letting it evolve. But for what we’re building, that would be entirely counterintuitive. MOTH is meant to be shaped by the people who believe that a world where everyone belongs is possible. We want to be challenged. I want people to tell me what belonging means to them, share their theories on building community, and push us to think deeper.

Every time someone does, I’m reminded of how much I still have to learn, how many perspectives I haven’t considered, and how expansive this vision can be when we create space for others to shape it. That’s what makes this different. And that’s exactly how it should be.

I want us to rethink the way we partner, amplify, and grow. I don’t want this to feel “normal” because the world doesn’t need more of the same. We need a breath of fresh air.

That’s what we’re creating. And if you’re reading this, I hope you see yourself in it too.
